Services
Every day right here in Central Massachusetts, Red Cross workers - mostly volunteers - respond to disasters ranging from single-family fires to the brutal terrorist attacks of September 11, helping survivors and their families cope with devastating loss. Red Cross workers recruit blood donors and collect, process and distribute blood, making sure the gift of life is as safe as possible and available for both life-threatening conditions and routine surgeries. Local Red Cross instructors train people in emergency planning, first aid, CPR, the use of lifesaving equipment and other skills, while chapters provide hot meals, transportation and many other essential community services.
Local caseworkers, work very closely with our Armed Forces service men and women families, keeping them in touch with their families and easing the strain of being far from home.
Our "every-day" heroes do more than help others. They often inspire the people they serve, motivating them to reach out to others in need, regardless of their differences. Together, we can save a life.
