One of the best ways to help people affected by disaster, people in your local communities and people around the world, is through a financial donation.

• A donation to Local Disaster Relief helps people in your communities who have been displaced or whose lives have been disrupted due to a fire in their home or another disaster - natural or man made. The Red Cross helps to provide the basics to a family such as food, clothing and temporary housing. We also provide emotional support and provide someone with referrals to community resources to help with their continued recovery from the disaster.
• A donation to the National Disaster Relief Fund helps disaster victims across the nation. Every year, American Red Cross chapters respond to more than 67,000 disasters a year ranging from the single-family household fire to floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, winter storms, etc.
• A donation to the International Response Fund helps people affected by international crises around the world. We work directly with the Red Cross or Red Crescent society in a country to help people affected by a disaster.
