Attention Instructors: New Lay Responder FA/CPR/AED Program


Babysitter's Training Instructor Course : 31404 : $100.00
NEW INSTRUCTOR COURSE! This course prepares instructor candidates to use course materials, conduct training sessions and evaluate the progress of participants in a basic level Babysitting Course. Instructor Candidates must be 17 years of age. The Babysitter's Instructor Course will include a self-study of Fundamentals of Instructor Training which must be completed prior to the start of the class. Participants must pass a pre-course written exam with a minimum of 80 percent on the first day of class and successfully perform all skills. To be authorized as an Instructor each candidate must attend all sessions, successfully complete one practice-teaching assignment and pass the final written exam with a grade of 80 percent. Instructor Authorization is valid for two years. The cost of the course includes Instructor Manual, Participants Manual; FIT Manual; Instructor Authorization and Babysitter's backpack. Each successful candidate will also have the opportunity to co-teach a class with an experienced American Red Cross Babysitting Instructor before teaching on their own.

It is strongly recommended that each candidate be certified in CPR/AED for Children and Infants as well as First Aid.

Lay Responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor Course: HSSFA801 - $245.00
This Instructor Course will incorporate the new ECC 2005 Guidelines for First Aid and CPR. Designed for individuals who wish to teach First Aid and CPR/AED for their place of employment or for the Community. It is recommended that Instructor Candidates enter this course with a current knowledge and current certification of Adult/Infant/Child CPR and First Aid and AED. A skill and written test will be given in the first session of class. Candidates must pass both the skill check and written test to continue in the course. STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL SESSIONS!!

Once full payment is made prior to the start of class, students should pick up the Fundamentals of Instructor Training manual from the Health Services Department at 2000 Century Drive, Worcester, MA, to review.

Upon successful completion of The American Red Cross Instructor Course, each candidate will receive an Instructor Certification, stamped and certified by the Central Massachusetts Chapter of the American Red Cross. It is strongly recommended that each Candidate co-teach with an experienced American Red Cross instructor before teaching on their own.

CPR/AED For the Professional Rescuer Instructor Course: $175.00
Designed for those individuals who wish to teach CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer for their place of employment or organization. It is strongly recommended that each Instructor Candidate hold a current certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. There will be a skill check and written test on the first day of class. The course prepares instructor candidates to use course materials, conduct training sessions and evaluate the progress of participants in this basic level course. Must be at least 17 years of age on or before last scheduled session of the course. Upon successful completion of this course, each candidate will be given an Instructor Certification, each candidate must co-teach with an experienced American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer instructor before teaching on their own.

HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention Instructor Course : $100.00
Course prepares candidates to: Share facts about HIV and AIDS accurately, non-judgmentally, and sensitively with people who belong to diverse groups and communities, discuss facts related to sensitive issues such as sex and sexuality, drugs and drug use, and encourage people to apply the facts about HIV/AIDS to their own behavior.
