Worcester Fire Fighters team up to help the American Red Cross
3rd Annual Fire Fighters Blood Drive to Honor Fire Fighters Across the Nation
The Worcester Fire Department, Worcester Fire Fighters Local 1009 IAAF and Home Depot announced today that they will be sponsoring the 3rd Annual Worcester Firefighters Blood Drive in honor of all fire fighters during Fire Prevention Week 2001, (October 8th through the 12th).
Blood drives will be held daily at the new American Red Cross Donor Center, located at 5 Biotech Park, 381 Plantation St., in Worcester. In addition to the Blood Drive, the American Red Cross will host a "Community Health and Safety/Disaster Preparedness Fair" in conjunction with Home Depot and the Worcester Fire Department Fire Prevention unit. Fire Fighter Blood Drive T-Shirts will be given to all donors and Home Depot will donate a supply of give-a-ways in honor of fire prevention week.
"We are thrilled to once again have the support of the Worcester Fire Department," said Nicole Valentine, Spokesperson for the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts. "The Fire Fighter's Blood Drive is the perfect opportunity for individuals to give the gift of life in honor of firefighters in their community and throughout the nation."
The drive will be held at the following times:
Tuesday, October 8th: 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 9th: 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 10th: 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Friday, October 11th: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 12th: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
