Red Cross Volunteers Respond From Across the U.S.; Marlboro Relief Effort Enters Fifth DayWorcester, MA, March 30, 2001 - Seventeen volunteers from the American Red Cross National Disaster Human Resource System have responded to the local Chapter's request for mutual aid. The volunteers, representing nine states including California, Missouri and West Virginia have responded to assist with the ongoing disaster relief efforts associated with the Wayside Condominium Fire in Marlboro. As the relief effort heads into the fifth day of operation, Red Cross Family Service Volunteers continue to meet with clients and provide emergency assistance including temporary housing and vouchers for food and clothing. The Service Center located at the Walker Building, 255 Main Street in Marlboro will remain open daily from 10:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. Residents who have been displaced by the fire are encouraged to report to the service center to register for free assistance or to call the EMERGENCY HELPLINE at (508) 485-1157.
