New "America" Beanie Baby to Benefit Local Red Cross Chapters
To honor American Red Cross chapters that provide lifesaving services and education in local communities year-round, Ty is introducing a second edition "America" bear to support local Red Cross disaster relief efforts. Beginning on February 25, 100 percent of Ty's profits from the original sale of "America" will be donated to the local disaster relief fund of Red Cross chapters where the buyers live.
"The response to the introduction of America has been incredible," said Ty Warner, chairman and CEO of Ty Inc. "Based on what I have seen, the public's support of 'America' the Beanie Baby will make this the most successful on-line launch in our history and is a wonderful way to say thank you to your local Red Cross Chapter."
Available exclusively online, the new "America" Beanie Baby can be purchased at Ty's Web site. This second "America" bear immediately follows the top-selling blue "America" bear, which to date has generated more than $1.1 million for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
"All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, therefore we depend on the generous contributions of individuals and companies to help us with our relief efforts," said Skip Seitz, senior vice president, Growth and Integrated Development, at the Red Cross. "We are truly grateful for all those who give selflessly of their time, money and blood so that we may continue to serve our community."
"Our first 'America' bear was such a success with customers, I knew they would want a second one," said Ty Warner, president of Ty. "The new 'America' bear is our way of saying thank you to Red Cross chapters that help people in communities every day. I hope both collectors and the public will join us in saying thank you for the great work of the Red Cross."
