A Beacon of Comfort: A New Chapter HeadquartersThe American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts moved into its new headquarters in 2004: The Remillard Building The 24,854 square foot Chapter Headquarters, The Remillard Building, is located on land off East Mountain Street in the Worcester Corporate Center - a location proximate to Interstates 290 and 495. From this new location, the Red Cross will better service the 913,614 people in Worcester and the 69 surrounding communities.
At the heart of the mission of the American Red Cross is a mandate to prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters. The Disaster Operations Center (DOC) will be the core of the new headquarters building and features state of the art communications equipment, private counseling rooms for disaster victims, adequate storage for emergency and shelter supplies, training rooms, and a garage to house the emergency vehicles. Your new Headquarters will serve as a regional training institute with ample space to continue and expand its training in lifesaving skills - including training areas for the Certified Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide Training programs, Phlebotomy Training, EKG, CPR/First Aid Classes, Workplace Safety, HIV/AIDS Education, and other life-saving training. The project was funded solely through a Capital Campaign and the sale of the old Chapter House.
