Located on the 2nd floor of the Fidelity Bank Building at 29 Main Street in downtown Leominster, our new satellite location will offer the same life saving and skill building courses that are taught in Worcester. Please watch for the date of the Grand Opening and ribbon cutting reception with the Chamber of Commerce, the Mayors and honored guests. We particularly want to thank Mary C. DeFeudis for her incredible support and belief in the Red Cross mission, and we salute Jerry Landine and Dan DiSalle of DiSalle Construction Company in Athol for their generous gift of time and labor in the last days of the remodeling process. National Volunteer WeekApril 27 - May 3National Volunteer Week is a time to recognize volunteers and celebrate the spirit of volunteerism. We all know a volunteer, and many of us are volunteers ourselves. We know first-hand the selfless nature of people who give with no expectation of being paid for their time.
Ready When the Time ComesThe City of Worcester Department of Health & Human Services and the American Red Cross are joining forces to prepare teams of trained volunteers to be ready to immediately help in a time of a local, large scale disaster. Each year the American Red Cross responds to over 120 disasters right here in Central Massachusetts. Although most of these disasters are not large scale, we must be prepared. One can never predict when our community may be challenged by the effects of a devastating fire, flood, explosion on hazardous materials event.
